Approach

The approach to bodybuilding I was taught emphasised the hourglass body shape and promoted the use of sports supplements, waist trainers, and highly restricted diets.

Although I trained hard, six days a week, for four months leading up to the competition, my final body was not a healthy one and I hit the peak of my body dysmorphia during that process.

This book project catalogues notes and learning, and wraps it all in a very graphical presentation because I enjoy learning through artistic presentation – especially when it’s no-fun stuff like Bulgarian split squats.

I keep this book on my website not to promote the book itself, but because it’s a piece of art I’m proud of.

Nutrition, Diet & Recipes

This is my favourite part of the book. Driven to understand how sugar affects the body and how it impacts insulin and creates back fat and, well, how in the bloody hell was I going to keep chocolate in my diet?! Baby food cakes, that’s how. Ugh.
