Let’s face it, the run up to the event, and show day itself isn’t a naturally glamorous experience. Sure, there are abs and glutes, dressed in sparkly costumes. Sure sounds glamourous.
But, the truth is, it’s dirty, demoralising, and drains every last bit out of competitors.
Twelve to sixteen weeks of hard prep, a week of feeling depleted with water loading and starvation, followed by an undignified application of harsh tan — then another. And then no shower and no water for the day of the event.
When all the hard work is done, the sweat and the tears have been shed, the bronzer and glaze applied, we want show day to be remembered as a memorable and magical experience — so that athletes feel appreciated and honoured for their hard work.
